Habitat: Shallow reef habitats with surge or more flow than A. alcicornis habitats. Distribution: Common throughout the Caribbean. Characteristics: Color and texture similar to A. alcicornis, but colonies form thin, upright blades or plates that are somewhat branched. Notes: Can cause painful stings that can develop into a painful rash or welts if touched.
