Natural History Notes: In New England, this predatory species has been shown to influence community structure and composition of ascidians by selectively preying on recently-settled individuals. Characteristics: Physical description: About 5 mm long, biconic, unsculptured, with a few well developed labial denticles. Shell white to brown with two or three spiral rows of crescent shaped brown markings. Notes: The species was first reported as Mitrella lunata.
