Habitat: Present in shallow water, attached to rocks   Distribution: This species has been reported from South Florida to the West Indies.   Natural History Notes: Can produce a pearl of a good quality.   Characteristics: Pinctada imbricata has a length of 2 inches. Specimens collected in the West Indies were generally larger in size. The color pattern varies from brown to green, and the interior is pearl gray.
