Habitat: On mangrove roots. Distribution: Bermuda, U.S. (Florida, Gulf of Mexico), Jamaica, Guadeloupe, Belize, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Tanzania, Mozambique, Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands. Natural History Notes: Their body contains organic extracts possibly to deter predation. Depth: 0.5 m Characteristics: Reddish colonial ascidians. Both siphons opened to the outside on each zooid. There are 4 longitudinal vessels on each side of the branchial sac. The testis are multilobed and male and female gonads could be present simultaneously or not.
