Habitat: They usually live in the littoral zone and will usually live attached on substrata to protect themselves against the direct wave actions. It will favor habitats with water movements where food particles in suspension can always be found. Distribution: This species has been reported from Florida to Brazil. The shell can vary in shapes but the coloration is mainly creamy-grey with some black patches, like if the shell was always a little dirty. The mantle edges and the periostracal grooves are fused along the median ventral line, except for a small anterior pedal aperture and the two siphonal orifices. The siphons are short, united. It has a narrow foot. This species is light sensitive.
