Habitat: Present in moderately shallow water Distribution: This species has been reported from North Carolina to the West Indies. Characteristics: Trachycardium muricatum measures around 2 inches long. The shell has a rounded shape and is slightly inflated. The two valves have a more or less equal heart-shape. We can distinguish between 20 and 40 ribs. The color pattern consists of yellowish white background with scattered red-brown dots.
