Paleontological Research Institution (PRI)Founded in 1932, PRI has outstanding programs in research, collections, publications, and public education. PRI is a national leader in development of informal (i.e., outside the classroom) Earth science education resources for educators and the general public, and also cares for a collection of 7 million specimens (one of the 10 largest in the U.S). The Museum of the Earth and Cayuga Nature Center are the local public educational venues of the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI), and are located in Ithaca, NY. Both are dedicated to offering accessible Earth and environmental science enrichment opportunities for visitors of all ages, and also work closely with area school groups to help instill an appreciation of the natural world at a young age.
